Great Tips for Moving, Packing and De-cluttering Your Home

Are you tired of having too much stuff taking up the room in your home?

Are you looking at your upcoming move as an opportunity to get rid of the clutter and get your home organised? If so, these suggestions are sure to help you get started on your way!

First of all, realise that you will need more time to de-clutter your belongings while you are packing. The more advance notice you have, the better. That way, you can work on lesser used items in the beginning.
Either way, you will need to have a system that you use to go through each room of your home. Generally speaking, you will need to have three different stacks. One will be for garbage, the next for charity and sales, the third being what you plan to take with you.
For those folks who are starting out with sufficient time, it might be a good idea to sell some of the more expensive unwanted items online. Electronics and similar types of goods are popular on auctions sites. If you have an account, the time and know-how, it can be a great way to remove some of the clutter in your home and provide some cash for your bank account.
Another options for those things that wouldn’t fetch a good price online or would otherwise be difficult for you to sell that way is a garage sale. These are held by folks every year and they can bring in a good chunk of change if you have the right stuff.
If you don’t feel like selling the unwanted items that are in good shape, you can simply box them up and donate to a local charity. A local women’s shelter or homeless mission might be the ideal new place for your gently used clothes, books, and household items.
Although you might be feeling sentimental as you sift through your belongings, try to make choices based on facts and logic rather than sheer emotion. While you don’t want to be heartless and toss out everything you have ever owned, you don’t need to keep everything that enters your home. If you have trouble in this regard, have a trusted friend help you during the process.
Make sure that you label your boxes well when you are packing so that you can find everything easily in the new location. It can often take days or even weeks to get everything unpacked and put away after a move. Make sure that you can find the essentials that you need for yourself and your family!
If you are ready to make a new life for yourself in your new place and want to get off on the right foot, you need to use these moving, packing and de-cluttering tips. You will be amazed at how much you will benefit from going through your stuff and clearing out the unwanted items, giving the best to charity and tossing the rest. Go ahead and give it a shot now!

House Removals Packing Tips

Moving can be one of the toughest things for many people because there is a lot involved and the stress that come with it.

Moving is not a simple task, you need to properly plan if you want everything to go well. There are some people who think they wouldn’t have to worry about moving when using a professional removals company, but this is not the right way to think. Proper planning ensures the moving process goes smoothly and you don’t forget anything or risk your precious goods.

Below are some house removals packing tips that will go a long way.

Start early

Go through your belongings at least six weeks in advance. This will help you know the things that you use frequently and those that you don’t use often. You can start packing those that you don’t use regularly to make it easier for you later. Remember to pack the things you use regularly in the same boxes to ensure you access things you will need right away after reaching your new destination.

Get plenty of packing supplies in time

There will be lots of packing supplies you will need. No matter how small your house may seem, you will need more supplies and boxes than you think. There are many packing supplies you can get from the local store or professional moving company.

Make an inventory

You need to have a list of all the things you are putting in each box. This will make it easier for you to find your thing when unpacking. This can seem unnecessary when you only have a couple of boxes, but once you start packing the whole house, the number of boxes will increase, making it important to know where what is. This will also help you know how each box will be handled.

Select the right size boxes

It is always a good idea to pack heavier items such as books, canned food etc, in smaller items, and lighter items in bigger boxes. This will make it easier to carry around the boxes. Always avoid loading more than 50 pounds into one box.

Keep personal items with you

You should not pack official documents, passports, birth certificates, licenses, cash, financial documents and jewelrey. Many of these items are not replaceable and can mean a lot of losses in case they get lost during the moving.

Protect Fragile Items

You need to insulate breakable item before packing them. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on packing peanuts you can try wrapping them in cloth you already have; towels, clothing, beddings etc. Clean socks usually fit well inside of stemware and glasses. Plates are usually fragile, but you can prevent breaking by packing them side to side just like in a dishwasher, instead of stacking them on top of each other.
Moving is not as hard as it may seem. You just need to plan in advance and you will have an easier time. With the above tips, you won’t have much stress when moving.
